TA personal digitalassistant, or PDA, is the current standard for scheduling. Often, a PDA serves as a calendar, day-planner, clock and address book at the same time. Many PDAs also contain a calculator program, a memo pad and a freehand note pad. Other programs common to baseline PDAs are games such as solitaire or Minesweeper.
A PDA comes with software and a USB cable that allows it to interface directly with the user's computer, allowing the user to easily add and adjust information and upload it to the PDA. The user can also download programs from the Internet and upload them to the
PDA. These programs include calculators, more games and various other helpful programs, such as tip calculators and currency-changing information. |
One of the biggest programs used on a PDA are e-book readers. E-books are very prized among PDA users, and can be found in many places on the Internet at many different prices. From free e-books of classical authors such as Charles Dickens and Jane Austen to recent e-books by Stephen King and John Grisham that are sold commercially.
The most popular PDAs are currently built by Palm and Blackberry. The Blackberry PDAs are notable because of the features it incorporates, such as a cell phone and an integrated Web browser.
