Palm PDAs are a type of personal digital assistant, a handheld computer used primarily to organize personal and business data. All Palm PDAs are known for their touch screen accessing system, although some models come equipped with a miniature keyboard and a thumbwheel that enables the user to better interact with the Palm PDA's touch screen menu.
The touch screen of Palm PDAs is the primary way to interact with them. Using a stylus, the user selects an application from the menu in much the same way a mouse is used. The stylus is also used to write information on a special area of the touch screen that records the stylus strokes and translates them into letters, numerals and symbols.
While all Palm PDAs come with a standard address book and scheduling program, many other programs exist. Clocks and calculators are standard on Palm PDAs, while many high-end Palm PDAs have software that enables them to connect to the Internet. Palm PDAs also contain a task list, memo pad and an expense tracker. Games are also popular on Palm PDAs, and may be purchased online. |
Palm PDAs may be fused with other business technology. Palm PDA cell phones are common, and Palm PDA mp3 players are on the market too.
