The BlackBerry PDAs are widely regarded as being a PDA able to send and receive email. It does this by interfacing with cell phone companies' wireless data networks, which also allows it to send and receive cell phone calls. The BlackBerry PDA may also contain a Wi-Fi option that supports Bluetooth wireless earpieces and allows Internet connectivity.
A BlackBerry PDA provides a color display screen, along with a built-in thumbwheel and keyboard. The keyboard has been optimized for typing with thumbs, and also contains options to program keys to insert specific words when hit, as well as word prediction software.
BlackBerry PDAs feature the standard PDA suite of applications such as a scheduler, an address book, a clock and a calculator. In addition, it also includes a Web browser and an email program. Word processors and spreadsheets are also available for the BlackBerry PDA. |
